When I pulled this out of the box, I was worried the set-up would be a tangled mess of wires, however the whole thing assembled in under 10 minutes. The hardest part was figuring out that the poles were covered with some sort of protective caps that need to be removed before assembling. The LEDs are very bright and the remote is very handy. I like the pre-programmed patterns. The music modes are surprisingly good as well!
I have three concerns though that lead me to dock a star.
1) One of the LEDs is permanently blue. Doesn’t matter which pattern I use. It also seems to stay on even when the unit is turned off (It does go out when the unit is unplugged.
2) The whole unit is little flimsy once fully assembled. The arms that the light strands connect to on the base a pretty floppy. While there are several ground stakes, I suspect that the little spring will fare poorly in our windy winters.
3) While the over all effects are nice, there aren’t quite enough LEDs to be able to register pictures or words very clearly. Not a big deal for my intended usage, but if you get this specifically to spell things out, you’ll likely be disappointed.

Better than expected. Clear instructions and easy to assemble. Well made and great quality. Lights are crisp and vibrant and super bright. App and remote work great!

This is a nice LED tree with a whole bunch of lighting effects to give you and your neighbors an eye catching display in your yard or front window. Assembly is fairly simple but a bit time-consuming, as you need to hook each individual light strand to a bottom arm. Each pole segment has a little cap on the end; they fit tightly and look like they’re supposed to stay there (because they don’t look like the typical cheap protective caps that I often see), but you will need to remove them in order to slide over the round cover for the base that not only provides some extra weight for stability but also keeps the lower arms locked down and out. The other pieces just slide onto each other (except the star, which I found actually goes on better if you twist it). Once powered up, you can control a lot of different effects, brightness, etc., with the remote control. If you want even more effects and control, download the free app (see instructions) and then go crazy. You can make your own custom scenes, link multiple scenes together, set timers to turn the tree on and off, etc. As long as these light strings and the electronics last through our cold winters without failing, it will keep my 5-star rating (I’ve had bad luck with other similar brands, though the strands on this one look noticeably thicker). I look forward to using this for the Christmas season!

We have a very large Griswold type display that is included on our city’s annual tour of holiday lights. Right now we do around 30,000 lights and lots of props. Currently we have 7 other similar trees ranging in size from 6 ft to 12 ft. This one is very similar to those but is a bit more expensive. However some of the application functions and varying light patterns on this version make it reasonable for the cost. Easy to set up and store.

So I really like this tree. It’s very beautiful and looks lovely at night. During the day it’s not much to look at but what decoration really is. The only thing I don’t like about it is it has some settings where it spells words and stuff. Because the lights travel all the way around the tree instead of just across the front you can’t really read what it’s saying because you can see the lights through the tree on the backside and that messes with the lights your trying to read on the front side. It’s basically not readable. The just light show things are fabulous though and the app works well. It’s easy to use the remote too. Overall I’m happy with it. I see now after I got it, it has a 40% off coupon and I’d say that price point with the coupon is fair. I think $200 is overpaying.

This tree took a bit more assembly than I was expecting. Once it is together, it is bright and cheery. It has lots of light patterns that can be used for 4th of July too. You can use it with the remote or you can download an app on you mobile device.

Good product, nice bright vivid colors. Easy setup and installation. The only issue is the app, if you’ve got Android than you’ll need to download the app via pdk file

A trend I’ve noticed is that the nicer the box, the easier the assembly—this tree is an exception. While it’s not the most difficult, it was one of the most frustrating because it requires a level surface to assemble properly; otherwise, it will tip over. My house is on a hill, so my driveway and yard are steep, and the only level places are my garage (currently filled with Christmas decorations waiting to be put up) or the sidewalk. I live in a busy neighborhood and have three kids, so the sidewalk isn’t a safe spot to assemble anything unless you want to get hit by a soccer ball or a bike. Assembly was challenging on my own, but if you have someone to help hold the tree, it would be easier.
Once assembled, the tree is very nice, easy to change colors, and looks wonderful. It comes with stakes, though I upgraded to heavier-duty ones since we get some pretty intense wind storms here. Overall, I like this tree, but I wouldn’t buy multiples because my workspace isn’t suited to its assembly needs.
