I’ve been meaning to get a set, or two, of these drop LEDs for years now. I was happy to find them on Vine to test out.
The instructions suggested doubling the strings to create a more dramatic appearance. I’m going to do that by overlaying one string with another staggering the drops to increase their density.
The instructions also recommended testing the controllers and lights before installing them, and so I did. They all light and the programs all work.
I noted that multiple strings can be linked and powered by one controller, and so I tested that, and I’m happy to say that one controller works to control both of my strings.
The wires of these light strings are too small to use the magnetic C9 light string hangers, such as these: https://amzn.to/47VhKEb (my support link).
The controllers are not water proof and need to be protected from the elements. The instructions say to use something like a plastic bag to protect the controller.

Put these out on my deck railing for an evening party, and they looked great! The 50′ length is really nice and there is plenty of lead to get from the outlet to where you want the lights to actually start. I like the different modes, although in the winter, I’ll probably set it to one option and leave it since there is not a remote to change them.

Forget the disco ball rental. Use these lights to string your dance floor/party venue! Although there’s no remote to switch thru the 8 different modes, a dedicated committee chair or party planner can easily switch to the desired light display since there’s a 10 foot lead between the power/control source and the first lit icicle. And since you can string strands together using the connecting plugs on the ends, imagine all the fun to be had: a techno beat to flashing viral lights winding down to a twinkling overhead for the last dance. These lights don’t need to be strung down from the ceiling or rooftop alone; strands can be positioned right-side up or sideways sticking a bulb or two thru garden bird netting (black, white, green color netting is out there) and placed near the floor or on the walls showing the action from the ground up or coming from the sides. Best thing: when the party is over, someone gets to take the lights home to use for …uh, what’s that Holiday, again?
